BLOG OVERVIEW

My life is all about the “Ds”: My Devotion to Jesus, Daryl (my Dear Husband), David (my son), my Dog (Prince), remodeling our Diggs, watching our Dimes (finances), and a dozen of Domestic duties. Proverbs 31:27 says “She watches over her household and does not eat the bread of idleness”. This is the diary of my flawed, fabulous, and funny life. Join me as a try to juggle it all.

After having some craziness the last few years with our spring landscape, I decided to save money and stress by just doing it myself. Ha, I had no idea what I was doing, but I was determined to get it done!!! Thankfully the rest of Team C came to the rescue and we were able to get it done in a few hours. The Helper of the Day award goes to David. He pulled weeds, helped to sweep up debris, gather and discard things, and was a great encourager! We literally could not have done it without him. Since he loves playing in the dirt, this was right up his alley. LOL Thanks so much Davey!

As it turns out, David’s Pop-Pop has never been to the circus. (Say What?) For his birthday, we wanted him to check this off his bucket list. With the Ringling Brothers Barium & Baily Circus having their last season, we knew we need to go now. David hadn’t been to the Big Circus either, so it was a treat for him also.

The theme for this finale season was “Out of this world” and it was indeed nothing we’d seen before! LOL. The costumes and acts were fantastic and entertaining. The most impressive thing was that all the people (not the pigs) were all on ICE SKATES! That was unexpected! The “cat” show was worth the price of admission. The aerial acts were breathtaking! The animals were so cute. I can’t remember when I’d ever seen a pig join the act. LOL. Good times!

David had his 1st skating experience last summer in karate camp, but we haven’t taken him, so it was a first for us. I’m not sure how David convinced me to put on a pair of skates, but it was bad. I didn’t fall, but I was horrible. SMH. David, on the other hand, did pretty good. At some point, he went into to David-mode, where he was going really FAST! It was a fun family time.

I’m actually blown away at how fast this half year has gone! I can’t believe that David is now 5.5! It’s hard to believe his Fast 5 was 6 months ago!

He’s still a full-time character at 5.5. He still loves his superheroes, going places, and having FUN! He is doing outstanding in Math, Bible, and Reading according to his latest report card. His art and handwriting certainly need some work, but he can get the “try hard award” when he slows down.

He told me that his favorite color is blue (this week). Leonardo (the blue bandana turtle) is his favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. He’s actively working to get his next Karate belt. He loves his school, his friends, going to recess and eating pizza.

Legos are creeping up as his #2 favorite thing to do indoors. Outside, running and shooting hoops are his favorite things. He’s still learning to ride his bike and drive his car. At night, he loves all the “light show” provided by his superhero night lights. Speaking of lights, having “light up” shoes is a must. It can be hard for him, but he tries to stay out of trouble. He is a passionate prayer warrior and has 2 more patches to earn to complete his blue Bible club (AWANA) vest.
