The Apostle Paul was empathic about encouraging and admonishing the Corinthian church. The Corinthians got all mixed up about the resurrection, so he was setting them straight:
It was sin that made death so frightening and law-code guilt that gave sin its leverage, its destructive power. But now in a single victorious stroke of Life, all three—sin, guilt, death—are gone, the gift of our Master, Jesus Christ. Thank God!
With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort.
1 Corinthians 15:56-58 (MSG)
I love the Message version of this familiar text. It is a good reminder that as we go about our day it’s important to seek the Master so he can direct our paths; therefore, we can be confident that work directed by Him is not in vain. So yeah Domestic Divas throw on some praise music while you mop the floors (It will distract you from seeing how much of last night’s dinner ended up on the floor or how nobody else in this house saw those spills LOL) and thank him for having a floor to mop and family to serve. Since you’re doing it go ahead and put you back into!
