I told Mr. C. that I would have to steal his line: “It is awesome when God speaks in stereo!” That was the phrase that he texted me this morning when he read the Our Daily Bread devotional for today (02/23/17 edition. You can find it on my Facebook page). Yes, I had just told Mr. C yesterday that this passage is what God put on my heart for this ministry. That. Exact. Passage! Gosh, Lord. You told me yesterday in that still small voice. Today, you put it in the devotional. Yes, Lord, I hear you loud and clear. I’m certainly getting the surround sound effect!
What is that God wanted you and me to know? Simply that being a Proverbs 31 Domestic Diva is a process…a journey; something that does not happen overnight. He is molding us and transforming us. I have lamented: “I am not being much of a Proverbs 31 Domestic Diva!!!!” (enters thoughts about how many layers of dust blankets my house and on and on and on).
That’s why God wanted to remind me about what the Apostle Paul told the Philippians:
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that which Christ Jesus took hold of me. (Philippians 3:12 NIV)
We will not reach perfection on this side of eternity. We will have bad days. Our house will be messy. Murphy will come and camp out in our lives (prayerfully for a short season). Perfection cannot paralyze us. I am not the standard. Magazines and HGTV are not the standards. Jesus is the standard. We have to keep pressing and striving towards Him… His Will and His Way for everything in our life. Press on Divas! Press On!
Divas, have you ever had a time that you felt that God was talking to you in surround sound?
