A Proverbs 31 Domestic Diva is able to manage her finances well. Whether you have a little or a lot makes no difference if you don’t manage what you have well. I know from experience how the lack of control over finances, can rob you of peace and joy. How can you expect God to bless you with more if you aren’t being a good steward of what he’s already given you?
From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.
Luke 12:48b (NIV)
For many of us, we weren’t taught how to be good stewards or even the basics; (how to balance a checkbook, read a credit report, or create a budget), so we live our lives paycheck to paycheck, then look to God for an increase, bailout, or a “blessing”. Stop it! We have to take ownership, ask God for help, and get on a path to financial freedom.
I am not a financial expert, so please consult a financial advisor for help, but what I’ve seen over the years is that most people just need the basic building blocks, not a portfolio manager. Years ago, I taught a financial empowerment seminar that walks step-by-step through the building blocks. Together let’s manage our finances one dime at a time.
